This Privacy Policy explains how Aviran Vargas, operating as BTC Expert Witness ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you visit btcexpertwitness.com (the "Site") or contact us about expert witness or consulting services. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide. When you complete our contact form, a Google Ads lead form, or otherwise reach out, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, company or firm name, and any details you choose to share about your matter or inquiry.

Guest post submissions. If you submit a guest post, we collect your name, email address, short biography, optional website, and the post itself. If your post is published, your name, biography, and website appear with it. Your email address is not published and is used only to contact you about your submission.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect information about your visit, including: your IP address; your approximate location based on your IP address, such as city, state, postal code, metro area, and approximate coordinates (these describe a general area, not a street address); the name of the organization or internet provider that owns the network you connect from; your browser, device type, operating system, screen size, language, and time zone; the pages you view, how long you spend on each, how far you scroll, and which parts of a page you view; clicks on our email address, phone number, outside links, and downloads; whether you submit a form; the website or link that referred you, including any campaign tags in that link; and the dates and times of your visits. We also store a randomly generated visitor identifier in your browser so we can recognize return visits.

How this information is collected. Much of it is collected by our own analytics, which runs on our server and is not shared with advertising networks. Approximate location is provided by Cloudflare, our security and content delivery provider. The name of the network owner is looked up through IPinfo, which receives your IP address for that purpose. Google (through Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Ads) also collects information through cookies and similar technologies under their own privacy policies.

Information from advertising platforms. If you respond to one of our advertisements, advertising partners such as Google may share the information you submitted through a lead form so that we can follow up with you.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to respond to your inquiries and provide the services you request, to run a conflict check before any engagement, to communicate with you about your matter, to operate, maintain, and improve the Site, to measure and improve the performance of our advertising, and to comply with legal obligations and protect our rights. We also use visit information to understand which firms and organizations are interested in our services, to see which of our listings and publications bring visitors to the Site, and to be notified when a visit shows interest in our services, for example when someone downloads our CV or contacts us.

We do not use visit information to identify you by name unless you contact us or otherwise provide your information to us. We do not buy data from third parties to identify visitors, and our analytics do not record what you type into forms.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site uses cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies to remember your preferences, recognize return visits, understand how the Site is used, and support advertising and measurement. These include our own analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Ads conversion tracking. You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings, or browse in a private window, to limit this tracking. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the Site and our advertising, such as our web host, our email provider, Cloudflare (security, content delivery, and approximate location), IPinfo (network ownership lookups), and Google, who are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us. We may also disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or when necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property.

The Site may link to third-party websites and profiles, such as professional directories and social media. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to review their policies before providing them with information.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, provide services, meet professional and recordkeeping obligations, and comply with applicable law. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. Website visit records are deleted automatically after a limited period, and network ownership lookups are refreshed every 30 days. Guest post submissions that are not published may be kept for our records and are deleted on request.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in our messages or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask how it is used.
